June is starting out to be a good month

June sure is starting out better than May ended.

Last week we met for our "Daughters of Dorinda" quilt retreat. Deana designed this top. She calls it Hexagons in Rotation. It is a "Stack'n Whack" and it was so much fun. The picture below is my top.
This orientation is with the bottom of the quilt at the top of the picture.
Marie, Lyn, Deana and I all made one of these. Lyn's daughters-in-law made other tops, and Kristen made purses. We had a really good time.

Below is the project from last year. L-R: Marie, Lyn, Deana and me.
Each quilt is similar, but vastly different. We all chose the colors of the fabric to be similar to those of the original quilt that Dorinda made in 1894. Lyn and Deana dyed their fabric (and not with Rit) and we all chose different background material, but they all turned out unique and beautiful.

Updated information from Vonda on Austin's weekend. He took 1st place at finals, but his point total for the year put him in 2nd place for overall. He will go to National High School Rodeo Finals next month in Gillette, WY.
This is the picture of his winning ride.
Here is Paul helping Ryan (L) and Jackson (R) put together puzzles.
It must be dangerous work. They wore their bike helmets. Sunday evening I went to Dora's and spent 2 nights with the kids, so she could go with Paul to a conference in Las Vegas. We went to the park near their home and had a picnic. Here are (L-R) Kylie, Kambree, and Maclay. Kylie's eye is on day 4 of an injury. Apparently it looks a lot better than the 1st couple of days.
A couple of neighbor girls were at the park, too. Here are (L-R), Kylie, Kelsey, Kambree's body behind the swing and Maclay with his back to us. The other girls are in between.
Tomorrow I will have Hayden, and we plan to leave for Vonda's on Thursday, so I will get to see all of my grandkids this week. YAY!!!
More pictures and updates after Austin's graduation.
