And so it goes...

Has it really been 3 weeks since I posted? Time sure flies by.
I don't even know what I have been doing, except making quilt blocks, laundry, tend grandkids, and clean house. I guess that all adds up, though.
Last week we went to St George with Jennie and Jeff. His parents have a time share, and we all went to see the plays at Tuachan. Weather forecast - rain. And it did. Monday night we went to see Tarzan and had to stop twice because of the rain. The stage gets really slick with the water. What we saw was excellent, but they cancelled before intermission, so we got to exchange our tickets for a gift card that is good for a year. Grease and Hairspray are scheduled for next year, but Paul and Jeff are not to excited about them. The other choice is Wizard of Oz, and we all thought that would be better. Then they decided to go see Thriller on Halloween weekend, so there goes their tickets.
The next night was Crazy for You, a George Gershwin play, and we liked that, too. It sprinkled a couple of times, but we got to see the whole thing.
Here is Hayden at the Time-share. He is 19 months old now, and growing like a weed.
Friday night Paul was in charge of the High Priest Group Social. He did a really good job, and I did very little with the preparations. He handled it. We went up the canyon to the Church owned area and had Navajo tacos. A couple of girls in the ward take Scottish dancing, and performed for us. They did a really good job. It was fun to watch them.
Saturday we had a really interesting experience. One of the families that Paul home teaches has been inactive for years. Over the past year or so, the husband has been coming to Priesthood meeting, and the wife has allowed visiting teachers in. Their granddaughter turned 8 the end of September, and the Sunday before conference, the grandfather was ordained a Priest, so he could baptize her. We were the last ward in the stake to have the baptisms, and when the Bishop went in to check the font, it had been drained. It was completely empty. He then had the dilemma of what to do. It takes a couple of hours to fill it, and under the circumstances, it would be counter-productive to reschedule. Then he tried to think of other alternatives, when the spirit reminded him that our past High Priest Group Leader has an indoor swimming pool, and they were home. They live across the street from the Stake Center, and were delighted to offer it as an alternative. It worked out really well. The whole experience was a testimony of listening to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I used it as an example of a miracle in my Primary class yesterday, and the Bishop used it as a part of his testimony in Fast and Testimony meeting.
Jackson turned 3 on Friday. Here he is with his new "blanket".
Ryan is 4 today, and he got a new blanket too.
They are both fast asleep, covered with their new blankets.

  1. I enjoy your blog. Blogland just makes me feel closer to family, and here you are, someone whom I didn't even know two and a half years ago. Now it almost feels like you and Marie are my big sisters.

Sorry about Tarzan. I hope you can enjoy one of the other shows later.
