Our Littlest Angel

Madeline Mae Cox was blessed today. She is the sweetest baby.
I did not get a picture of her smile. The lens on the camera was on auto and so by the time the focus was ready the smiles were gone. This is my favorite picture of those that I took.
She is three months old now.
She does smile, though, and often. Her brother loves her and wants to feed her, hold her, and change her diaper!
The boys love their grandpa. This reminds me of the Dr Suess "Hop on Pop" book. They all think he needs to hold them on his shoulders at the same time.
And here is Hayden "cutting" Grandpa's hair.

Life at Home

Kylie had her skate review on the 13/14 of May. She is doing really well. Above is a shot from the back and below she is on the left. Dora made her costume. They were all dressed in white to represent winter. It was very cute. She will be 9 on Wednesday.
And Jennie went back to work on May 11, so until Stephanie gets here in June, I have the kids. The boys just LOVE Madeline and can't leave her alone. Most of the time, she is pretty tolerant and smiles and goos at them. Sometimes she cries, so it is time to pull them away.
They both think they can pick her up and carry her, so have to be supervised very closely.
Jackson is totally attitude. Here is his "I'm so MAD" face. Ryan actually took this picture, so I am sure they were fighting over the camera.
They are totally partners in crime. When I want to keep something away from them, it goes on top of the refrigerator. They have had all climbing helps taken away (step stools, etc), so now they use each other.
Jackson gets up on Ryan's back and gets to where he can put his foot in the water dispenser, then up he goes. Have to find another place that is not so easily accessible for them.
Right now they are getting ready to move. Marian has accepted a promotion to manager, but the store is in Huntington, and it is 2 hours each way. She is looking in Castle Dale right now for a place to live. She will be starting around June 1st if she can find a place by then.
Life will certainly be quiet with them gone.

The Cox babies

Madeline is 2 months old now. She is such a good baby and puts up with her brother and cousins without a fuss. She is smiling and responding to attention. Today she weighed in at the doctor at 10 lb, 10 oz.
They went to the zoo last week and Hayden was fascinated by the monkeys. He is getting very tall and is outgrowing his clothes. Thankfully there are lots of hand-me-downs that he is fitting into.

Busy Weekend

Early Friday morning, Marian and boys and Jennie and babies loaded up with me for a road trip to Washington State to visit Vonda and family. It was a heavily scheduled weekend for them. It was the first rodeo of the season, softball games and Stephanie's school musical.
We arrived just before midnight and got everyone settled into bed. The drive was long and tiring for us all. It rained all across Oregon and most of Washington. Saturday morning dawned partly cloudy, but we did get to spend time in the sun.
Melissa had a double-header and this is her 1st time up to bat. Hit a pop fly and got out.
Most of the first game she played 2nd base and caught a couple of pop flies. Then the last 2 innings she pitched. They lost both games, but had a fun time anyway.
Then off to the evening show of the Jr Rodeo.
Here is Cody getting into the bucking chute.
And his short ride.
Austin, climbing into the chute.
His ride was too short to get anything but a blur, so I erased it.
Sunday afternoon we went to Stephanie's school musical. They had record attendance at all of the performances. The play was "Footloose" and they did an awesome job.
Here is Madeline, being such a good baby.
Stephanie was in the dance and choir portions of the play. She had such a fun time practicing and performing. She was exhausted by the time it was all over.
After the play we went to dinner with Vonda and family.
Melissa tended the boys for us.
After dinner we took pictures of the girls with the baby.

We came home, the same 900 miles yesterday. Rain and snow over Snoqualame. Then a few showers in the valleys. But all-in-all a good trip.

Spring, at least for 1 day!

Yesterday was 70 degrees, so we took the boys to Thanksgiving Point Farm Country for a few hours. They loved riding the ponys, feeding the animals corn, and the wagon ride.
Ryan Jackson
Hayden (not as brave as he would like to be)
They liked the dance hall, too.But the wagon ride was the best.I had to go to Lehi at 7 and it was only 40 degrees, and the wind was blowing at about 5o mph. Glad we went when we did.
This morning Ryan wanted to go back to feed the "sheeps and llamas" and ride the ponys and the wagon with Holly and Bess (the names of the horses)

March and Birthdays

March is nearly gone, it is supposed to be spring, but it is not being spring-like weather. This week we have had rain and a little snow, but it is not sticking to the ground, so I guess maybe that could classify as spring weather.
This month is full of birthdays. Our daughter-in-law Jaime has a birthday on the 4th and we went to dinner with them. She has a twin brother, so her parents, brother and his wife and baby, along with Jeff and Jennie and Marian and her boys helped to celebrate the birthdays.
Then on the 7th our sweet baby granddaughter was born. Madeline Mae is her name and the picture above is her hospital picture.
On the 10th Hayden turned 2. Marian and the boys gave him this Elmo. He is dancing with Elmo, even though it looks like he is standing still.
On the 11th Evan and Jaime, along with some other folks from Grantsville, Stansbury Park, Tooele, and Kearns treked to Las Vegas for a 3 day conference, where we were able to listen to leaders in our business. We had a great time, and ate well. Not even a quarter in the slot machines, though. We were not there to gamble.
Here is Ryan holding Madeline. The boys just love her.
Especially Jackson. He wants to take here out of her infant seat the second Jennie walks in the door. They came for dinner on Sunday and it was all we could do to get Jackson to sit and eat and not entertain the baby.
Here he us holding her.
Grandpa gets a snuggle.
And Hayden LOVES his baby sister. He can't get enough kisses on her face. I got one of before and after, but not the act. He moves too fast for the camera to focus.

Robert's birthday is also on the 10th. Dora's birthday was the 21st. The boys all sang Happy Birthday to her on the phones. Ryan and Jackson on my phone and Hayden on Jennie's phone.
Then Manda and Janna had birthdays the 12th & 14th. The 22nd is Gina's birthday and the 23rd is Brant and his Molly, so extended family birthdays get in there too. Then Stephanie will be 17 on the 30th. So March is especially busy for our birthday calendar.
The spring bulbs have sprouted and most have 3-4 inches of leaves. A couple of the yellow crocus have bloomed, but nothing else. The rose bush leaves are starting to bud, so I guess it is really spring.
